The Executive Director of VAI, Musa Umar, disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Gusau.

The sensitisation was conducted in collaboration with “International Alert” another NGO.

It is being funded by the UK International Development under a project, Promoting Stability, Access to Justice and Accountabilit in North West region.

Umar said the sensitisation programmes were also held in Tsafe, Bilbis, Birnin Magaji and Nasarawa Godel communities under Birnin Magaji and Tsafe Local Government Areas of the state.

“A total of 440 participants, comprising traditional and religious leaders, women and youth groups, people with special needs, and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), among others, were trained.

“The programme is titled  ‘Campaign for Increased Access to Justice by addressing the Barriers’.

“The programme was aimed at encouraging communities to always prioritize access to Justice to ensure sustainable peace and stability,” Umar explained.

According to him, the participants were urged to support one another in addressing problems that affect their communities.

“We appreciate the turnout of the participants, we called on them to extend the message to their respective homes and localities to actualise effective implementation of the objectives,” Umar added.
