The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, stated that having a university like Northeastern University in Gombe, located in the northeast of Nigeria, will reduce the number of parents sending their children abroad to study.
The Emir revealed this during a visit to the university a few days ago. He noted that the university has built infrastructure and provided facilities for studies across various faculties.
The Emir expressed profound astonishment at the sight of the university, stating, “I am at a loss for words to adequately describe what I have witnessed here today. While Nigeria boasts numerous private universities across various states, the remarkable provisions and infrastructure found within this institution defy simple description. The facilities within every faculty are exemplary, and the overall infrastructure is of the highest standard. This university stands as a source of great pride, particularly for the people of the Northern region.”
Furthermore, the Emir emphasized the rarity of such comprehensive facilities being consolidated in a single location, particularly noting the impressive progress made despite the university's recent establishment.
The Emir remarked, “In my capacity as Chancellor of three universities, encompassing both private and Federal institutions, I must express my profound amazement at the accomplishments of this university. It is truly remarkable that such strides have been made since its inception in 2022. There are no words adequate to convey my admiration for the Emir of Gombe, the university's proprietor, the dedicated faculty, staff, management, board members, and indeed the entire community of Gombe. Allow me to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all involved for this extraordinary achievement.”
“The existence of such a university eliminates the need for individuals to incur expenses and travel abroad for education. Similarly, regardless of the tuition fees, parents will find it worthwhile to invest in the quality education provided by this university, as evidenced by what we have witnessed and heard,” he reiterated.
“We urge the university to actively promote and advertise its offerings. I foresee that within the next two to three years, this institution will attract students from all corners of Nigeria. It will evolve into a national private university, drawing individuals from across the country,” he emphasized.
