Bandits have attacked the residence of a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina state.
The incident occurred in Lowcost Yarima Quarters around 1:30 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Daily Struggle Newspaper reported that the bandits killed the lecturer and abducted his two children.
The lecturer, identified as Dr. Tiri Gyan David, is the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development at FUDMA.
Our source confirmed to DAILY STRUGGLE NEWSPAPER that the terrorists invaded the community with sophisticated weapons and fired sporadically.
An eyewitness told our reporter that the sporadic shooting kept them awake: "We were very disturbed. It was around 1:35 AM. We heard gunshots all over the community. The night was scary. We heard a FUDMA lecturer was killed and some of his children were abducted."
When contacted, the spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, Aliyu Sadeeq, confirmed the incident and said they will soon release a statement.
