The Kebbi State Government has rejected a new salary table circulating on social media, calling it malicious and misleading.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, the State Head of Civil Service (HoS), discredited the table labelled "Kebbi State Civil Service Salary Structure & Allowances 2024," which falsely claims to represent a new salary structure approved by the government.
Garba-Bena urged state civil servants and the public to disregard the circulated table and to await an official and accurate salary structure from the government. He appreciated the understanding, patience, and resilience of the workers and their labour unions.
He reminded workers that Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, who has a background in unionism, remains committed to their welfare. Garba-Bena assured that the government is diligently working to ensure the satisfaction of state civil servants.
"Governor Nasir Idris, who rose from local to federal levels within the labour movement, is committed to supporting workers. As a former Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), his dedication to workers' issues remains steadfast," Garba-Bena stated.
