While speaking to journalists shortly after his visit to his constituency regarding the delay in providing water, Hon. Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa, a member of the National Assembly representing Gamawa Local Government in Abuja, stated that he had brought aid to address the dire situation faced by the people of Gamawa. This aid included the distribution of food, drinking water, medicine, and millions of naira in relief funds.

He noted that more than a year into office, he and his team have made significant efforts to provide employment for the youths in Gamawa. This includes creating jobs for 50 motorcycle riders to address transportation challenges within Gamawa Local Government. Additionally, they have provided 100 jobs for young people in various sectors across Nigeria, taught over 200 youths multiple trades, and supplied them with capital. "Currently, everyone in Gamawa is benefiting from this support," he said.

Gamawa mentioned that just this month, they employed more than 200 youths by teaching them how to operate Point of Sale (POS) systems. Each was provided with a POS machine and a capital of 50,000 naira to help them sustain themselves. Moreover, over 100 women were trained in various trades, and each was given a capital of 50,000 naira. All these initiatives were completed within one year, which he considers a significant achievement.

Regarding the issue of drilling water in Gamawa, he stated that they have provided clean water through approximately 1,000 boreholes in the villages of Gamawa Local Government Area, ensuring that almost no one lacks access. They have also constructed several schools and built hospitals in the villages where needed. During the rainy season, they supplied irrigation engines and pest control medicine to farmers, who have benefited from this assistance. During the dry season, they distributed more than 500 bags of fertilizer along with pest control medicine, all within one year. Hon. Gololo, however, expressed surprise, stating that while he has been in parliament for eight years, "I have achieved more in just one year, and the people of the area can attest to this."

"But Gololo, who accuses me of ignorance in Gamawa, is actually incorrect. It is the people of Gamawa who sent me to Abuja to represent them, and they are satisfied with the representation I am providing. Moreover, all these achievements have been accomplished within one year. Where can I find him? He is not in Abuja; he is merely making no sense because he sees that I have accomplished more in my one year as a member of the national assembly than he did in his eight years. This has made him worried about me, while I have achieved all this within just one year."

Regarding Gololo's accusations of electoral fraud in Gamawa, he challenged the former that if he had any concerns, he should have approached the electoral commission or complained to his agents, as everyone cast their vote before their agents and then the winner was announced. "Therefore, I have no issue with this, and honestly, even if you were in office, you might claim 'someone cheated,' which is just an excuse. The people of Gamawa have changed their minds about Gololo and rejected him, and I also thank them for the trust they have reposed in me. May God grant me the strength to fulfil this responsibility that has been bestowed upon me."

"And it is not true when he says, 'Why do you represent people instead of me?' I advised him to step aside and let me represent Gamawa. If only he had listened to my advice, he would have sent it to the Governor of Bauchi State. We discussed this frequently and exchanged advice. However, he always claims he did not hear me."

"Finally, I pray to God to grant us the ability to manage this leadership role with ease, despite the burdens the people have placed upon us. Regarding political matters, let’s move forward. People have been neglected in the country, and I have served them not out of political motives, but simply because if the people elect you, everyone will follow. Look at me; whatever we do in Gamawa, we do it for everyone, not just for APC members or those who elected us. We do it for everyone. If you are an indigene of Gamawa, we will do whatever is appropriate for you, God willing. Thank you."

It is worth recalling that before the elections, specifically before the local government elections in Bauchi State, Hon. Madaki Ahmed Gololo, who is now the Chairman of Gamawa Local Government, granted an interview to the press where he accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of buying the House of the representative's seat in Gamawa constituency during the 2023 elections.

The APC denied these allegations, just as the APC's secretary in Gamawa, Hon. Nasiru Malamin, did.
