The Commander General of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youths Empowerment Agency, Dr. Umar Aliyu Shayi, has announced new security initiatives aimed at adopting global best practices to enhance the state's security framework. This development follows a strategic partnership with the Centre for Citizenship Training in Jos.

Dr. Shayi disclosed this to the media in Jos, shortly after a meeting with the top management of the Centre. The communiqué issued from the meeting outlined the areas of collaboration, focusing on strengthening the agency’s operational capacity and intelligence gathering through the deployment of cutting-edge technology.

The key points of the partnership include improving skills and intelligence knowledge, enhancing the agency’s capabilities through the introduction of relevant software to track criminal activity, and implementing anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) measures. Additionally, there will be an exchange of technology and information to better combat terrorism and other crimes in Bauchi State. The partnership also aims to uphold global security standards, ensuring rules of engagement are respected and human rights are preserved during operations.

Dr. Shayi emphasized that the partnership is crucial for improving security across Bauchi State, particularly in collaboration with conventional security agencies to gather firsthand intelligence. He further stated that the agency is committed to supporting Governor Bala Mohammed’s agenda on improving internal security policies statewide.

Expressing satisfaction with the collaboration, Dr. Shayi reaffirmed the agency's commitment to implementing global best practices in intelligence gathering and operational security systems. He stressed that these initiatives are vital for reducing crime to the lowest possible level in Bauchi State.

The Commander General also praised the Governor Bala Mohammed administration for its dedication to improving the safety and security of lives and property in the state. He highlighted the importance of security in fostering economic growth and positioning Bauchi on the global stage as a model of democratic governance.

In conclusion, Dr. Shayi noted that this historic partnership would significantly enhance security standards in the state, ensuring the safety and protection of all citizens.
