The Chief Business Officer of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Niger Region, Mr. Samuel Odekina, has assured the management of the Broadcasting Corporation of Niger State (BCNS) of a daily power supply lasting between 12 and 16 hours.

Mr. Odekina gave this assurance while receiving a delegation from BCNS, led by its new General Manager, Mohammed Kolo, during a courtesy visit to his office in Minna.

He expressed the company's willingness to collaborate with government agencies such as Radio Niger, emphasizing the station’s crucial role in disseminating information for public benefit. He described information as key to effective and efficient service delivery.

According to Mr. Odekina, electricity customers should not be deprived of power, stating that energy cannot be conserved indefinitely and must be utilized efficiently once generated.

Earlier, the new General Manager of BCNS, Mohammed Kolo, appealed to AEDC for a dedicated power supply to both the transmission station in Maitumbi and the office complex on Broadcasting Road. He emphasized that stable and consistent electricity is essential for delivering quality service to Radio Niger’s vast audience.

Kolo, who recently assumed office, highlighted the need for uninterrupted power supply to the FM station in Minna and its booster stations across the state.

Accompanied by senior management staff of BCNS, Kolo reiterated his commitment to repositioning the corporation’s radio stations to effectively serve the entire state. He pledged to enhance their role in informing, educating, and entertaining the public while fulfilling their agenda-setting responsibility.
