The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has re-arraigned former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki before Justice Charles Agbaza of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.

The trial, which was originally assigned to Justice Hussain Baba-Yusuf of the FCT High Court, has been reassigned to Justice Agbaza.

Dasuki was re-arraigned for fraud alongside a former General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Baba Kusa, Acacia Holdings, Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited.

The suspects are being prosecuted on a 32-count charge, bordering on breach of trust and dishonesty to the tune of N33,200,000,000 (Thirty-three billion, Two Hundred Million Naira).

Upon the reading of the charges, the defendants entered a plea of "not guilty."

This prompted the prosecution, represented by Oluwaleke Atolagbe, to request a trial date.

The Defense counsel requested that Dasuki and Kusa be allowed to maintain their current bail conditions.

The prosecution did not oppose this request but asked the court to ensure the defendants' consistent attendance at all proceedings.

Justice Agbaza scheduled the next hearing to July 1, 2025.
