Hallilu Hassan, Head of Safety and Environmental Unit, Federal University of Education Zaria has frowned at people who are expressing anger over the recent crash of foodstuffs prices.

The expert who took to his Facebook page to voice out his lamentation wondered why people will not appreciate the recent decline of prices in foodstuffs.

"I am surprised some people are angry prices of food items are crashing.

"I even saw an academic on a WhatsApp platform I belonged, advising farmers not to farm this year since prices are falling and the government allowed import of food items.

"So these people want food prices to continue to skyrocket? God pass them." He ventured.

Hassan advised farmers to do better by advocating for a crash in prices of fertilisers instead of complaining on crash in prices of food items.

He noted that when farmers  harvested their farm produce, there exists an opportunity for them to sell their goods immediately.

The expert however, indicated that such farmers decided to hoard and store the produce in anticipation of a sky rocketing price.

He urged all Nigerians to have the fear of God in their mind so that the downtrodden will have a relief of the unnecessary hardship imposed on them.

Hassan therefore appealed to Federal government to compliment it's strategy by bringing down the prices of assorted farm implements including fertilizer, pesticide and seeds to enable farmers produce more in the coming years.

According to him, if government take this step, the ever skyrocketing prices of food commodity will permanently be a thing of the past.
