The Kaduna State Government today celebrated the second anniversary of His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, with a grand event and the commissioning of a major road project in Sabon Gari Local Government Area — a striking symbol of his administration’s infrastructural achievements.

Themed “2nd Year Anniversary of His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Uba Sani,” the event was attended by top government officials, community leaders, party stakeholders, and enthusiastic residents.

Highlights of the program included an opening prayer, goodwill messages, and remarks from key figures such as the Managing Director of the Kaduna Roads Agency (KADRA), the Commissioner of Public Works and Infrastructure, and the Chairman of the Sabon Gari Market Association.

The centerpiece of the celebration was the commissioning of the newly completed 8.8-kilometre Dogon Bauchi–Unguwan Gwado–Hayin Fulani–Kakiyeyi–Dakace Road. The road includes a 105-meter bridge and links Sabon Gari and Zaria Local Government Areas — a critical infrastructural milestone in the region.

In his address, Governor Uba Sani described the project as a testament to his administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

“This marks a significant milestone in our journey to transform Kaduna State's infrastructure. The commissioning of this road and its 105-meter bridge represents a promise kept. It demonstrates our resolve to bridge the gap between rural and urban communities,” he stated.

The Governor emphasised that roads are more than physical infrastructure; they are vital to economic growth, social interaction, community development, and long-term security.

“For our administration, roads are not just roads. They are enablers of progress. Every kilometer fosters connectivity, boosts economic activity, and improves access to markets, healthcare, and education,” he added.

Governor Sani further noted that the road would improve both security and economic ties between Sabon Gari and Zaria LGAs. He called on residents to maintain the new infrastructure and expressed appreciation for their support.

“I am proud of the people of Sabon Gari. Your support and resilience are commendable. This project is for you,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, Honourable Jamilu Abubakar Albani, lauded the Governor for his commitment to grassroots development.

“Your Excellency, this road is one of many examples of your dedication to improving the lives of ordinary citizens. Sabon Gari is deeply grateful,” he remarked.

Reaffirming his loyalty, the Chairman pledged full support for the Governor’s administration and future political ambitions.

“In the presence of His Excellency, I declare that all APC stakeholders in Sabon Gari stand firmly behind your leadership and people-focused policies. We are fully committed to your second-term bid,” he declared.

Residents also shared their appreciation. Muhammad Sani of Kakiyeyi told our correspondent:

“This road has transformed our daily lives. We used to suffer, especially during the rainy season. Governor Uba Sani has truly remembered us.”

Another resident, Aspina Daniel, highlighted the impact of the bridge:

“The 105-meter bridge is a miracle. It used to take hours to cross during floods. Now we feel connected and valued.”

The ceremony concluded with a photo session and the departure of dignitaries, leaving the community energised and hopeful for continued development.
