A group known as Fulani Youths Bago 2027 has declared its support for Governor Umar Mohammed Bago ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group’s Niger State Coordinator, Ambassador Mujahid Adam, made the declaration during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for the Ministry of Pastoral Affairs, Hon. Umar Sanda Rebe, in his office on Thursday.
Amb. Mujahid expressed appreciation to the state government for the creation of the Ministry of Pastoral Affairs and the steps taken to improve the welfare of herders and farmers across the state.
“Our group was formed to ensure that no herdsman or farmer is left behind in benefiting from the government’s developmental initiatives,” he stated.
He explained that the group runs various empowerment programmes, including vocational training for Fulani youths, promotion of modern and religious education, and small-scale business support.
Mujahid pledged the group’s continued partnership with the government and called for increased efforts to educate herders on the importance of supporting government policies and programmes.
In his remarks, Hon. Umar Sanda Rebe commended the group for its vision and for reaching out to the ministry. He stressed the importance of unity between herders and farmers and praised the achievements of Governor Bago’s administration within its short time in office.
“The Governor has done exceptionally well, and it’s important for all stakeholders to support his vision,” the commissioner added.
Also speaking at the event were Alhaji Hassan Usman Shiroro (Wakilin Fulanin Minna) and Comrade Sulaiman Ruga, the association’s state secretary. Both leaders pledged their full support for the government’s programmes and reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful coexistence and development in the state.
