Marine Football Academy has announced the appointment of seasoned journalist Ammar Muhammad Rajab as its new Director of Media and Publicity.

The appointment was confirmed in a letter dated September 18, 2025, and signed by the Academy’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Idoku. According to the letter, the appointment takes effect from September 19, 2025.

The CEO expressed optimism that Rajab will leverage his extensive media experience to enhance the Academy’s visibility and deepen its public engagement.

Ammar Muhammad Rajab is a veteran journalist with over a decade of experience in the media industry. He holds a Degree in Archaeology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Ameer Shehu Idris College of Advanced Studies (ASICAS). He also holds a Journalism Certificate from the prestigious Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.

In addition to his formal education, Rajab has earned several professional certifications. These include Computer Appreciation and Data Processing from Evergreen School of Computer, a Certificate of Honour from KAYOJA and Arewa Agenda, and participation in workshops on Digital Economy and Media Convergence, as well as Fact-Checking Techniques organised by AFP and the Google News Initiative.

Founded in 2023 by football enthusiast and youth development advocate Anthony Idoku, Marine Football Academy has quickly gained recognition for its structured programs, commitment to excellence, and passion for developing well-rounded footballers. The academy continues to open its doors to young talents, offering them the platform, mentorship, and exposure they need to thrive both on and off the pitch.

Marine Football Academy conducts its training sessions at Jushi Model Primary School Field in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Zaria, Kaduna State.

Rajab’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the Academy’s media relations, storytelling, and brand visibility as it expands its impact on grassroots football development in Northern Nigeria and beyond.
