The Hakimin Kabo and Sarkin Gabas of Kano State, Alhaji Idris Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, has died at the age of 48 following a fatal car accident in Kano.
A statement issued on behalf of the family by Kasa Alhaji Fahad Dankabo confirmed his passing and funeral arrangements.
Alhaji Idris was the son of the late Jarman Kano and founder of Kabo Air, Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo. He was a respected traditional ruler who upheld his family’s legacy of leadership within the Kano Emirate.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
The funeral prayer (jana’iza) was held earlier today, Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Emir’s Palace in Kano, and was led by His Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
