Umar Aliyu Shayi is not a new household name when it comes to defeating bandits, banditry, cattle rustling, and other forms of terrorism and crimes.
He’s deeply connected and articulated in knowing the antics and professional tactics to tackle crime syndicates across the board.

Dr. Umar Aliyu has been eminently contributing the best of his experience, knowledge, technical know-how, and professionalism in fighting bandits in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
Dr. Shayi equally serves as an inspiration and iota of naked realities and is deeply compassionate about developing sustainable humanity, moral compass, integrity, honesty, peace, and security development.
He has been in the space for fighting bandits decades ago.
He is currently SSA on Security Matters to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, doubling with his position as Commander General, Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, as well as Director General of the said agency.
This agency has been carrying out her obligations within the ambit of the constitutional justice system of Nigeria, rules of law and order, as well as protecting the wheels of fundamental human rights and, by extension, promoting the dignity of public service delivery, productivity, and enhancing revenue generation to the state government in the best practices and interests of Bauchi State.
Besides the above-mentioned positions, Dr. Umar Aliyu Shayi equally holds the position of ACG Operations of the Nigeria Hunters and Forestry Security Service. This is the second highest forestry authority in this field after the Chief Commanding Officer.
Dr. Shayi travels widely in and out of Nigeria attending various professional courses and conferences with regard to understanding the true global concepts and validation process on the fight against terror and terrorism.
Recently, he was in the Israeli Federation, Russia, United States of America, France, Egyptian Republic, among other notable global countries for induction courses.
He has been a fellow to both national and internationally recognized bodies by law and a recipient of merit awards from credible organizations both locally and internationally.

Governor Bala is a great benefactor and a pillar supporting this agency with logistics and funding to assist the men and officers of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency to carry out their respective activities diligently, honestly, and professionally in accordance with the doctrine of sustainable humanity, rule of law, and best practices of rules of engagement while fighting crimes and trenches of criminalities across the divides.
