The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the training of supervisors and ward agents on the electronic registration of party members across the state.
The training was officially flagged off on Monday at the AA Yari Scholarship Initiative Office along the Gusau bypass. The exercise was inaugurated by the state APC Coordinator and Publicity Secretary, Hon. Yusuf Idris Gusau, who represented the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani.
Speaking at the event, Yusuf Idris said the commencement of the e-registration training marks a significant step towards building a comprehensive and reliable database of party members in the state.
“With the introduction of e-registration, both existing and new members of the party will now be registered electronically to ensure accurate and comprehensive membership records,” he said.
He explained that a total of 294 ward agents—two from each of the 147 wards—as well as one supervisor from each of the 14 local government areas of the state, were trained and adequately briefed on the registration process to ensure that no eligible member is left out.
Yusuf Idris urged all party members, including new entrants, to actively participate in the exercise and ensure they are duly captured during the registration.
He also expressed appreciation to party leaders, particularly the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle; Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar; and the National Executive Committee of the APC for their continued support to the Zamfara State chapter of the party.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by several party officials, including the State APC Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Idris Ataka; Zonal Vice Chairman, Central, Alhaji Amadu Saidu Mai-Aya Tsafe; the Legal Adviser and e-Registration Coordinator for Zamfara West, Barrister Muhammad Aliyu Ajiya; the Assistant Organising Secretary and e-Registration Coordinator for Zamfara Central; and the e-Registration Coordinator for Zamfara North, Alhaji Nasiru Makwashe Kaura.
Others in attendance included the Assistant Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Shehu J. Muhammad; Assistant Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Junaidu Attahiru Dosara; Administrative Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Maaji; and APC chairmen from Maru, Bungudu, Gusau, and Tsafe local government areas, among others.
