Followers of the Islamic movement in Nigeria, under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H), have paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing his death as a great loss to the Muslim community.

The delegation, led by Malam Ahmad Yusuf Yashi, the Bauchi State representative of the movement, visited the late scholar's central mosque in the Makera area of Bauchi on Sunday for the condolence.

In his condolence message, Malam Yashi described the passing of Sheikh Dahiru as a profound loss to Islam, acknowledging his immense contributions to Islamic scholarship and his dedicated efforts in training Qur’an reciters across Nigeria and Africa.

He also emphasised the cordial relationship between Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, recalling that Zakzaky would always visit the late scholar whenever he was in Bauchi. He said both leaders shared a strong commitment to the progress and unity of Islam.

Yashi prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and for blessings upon his family. Members of the delegation included Malam Dawud Azare, Sheikh Ishak Misau, among others.

The late Sheikh’s eldest son, Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, received the delegation and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming show of love, saying the thousands of condolence visits had reassured the family of their father's strong legacy.

During an earlier visit by the leader of the Qadiriyya Order, Sheikh Karibullah Nasiru Kabara, Sheikh Ibrahim urged Muslims to remain united and avoid divisions, stressing that unity is crucial for the advancement of Islam.

Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness.
