The second induction ceremony for graduates of Medical Radiography and Medical Laboratory Science was held at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
A total of 47 Radiography graduates and 50 Medical Laboratory Science graduates were inducted. In addition, 11 Radiography graduates who were trained abroad were inducted alongside those who completed their studies at ABU.
The oath was administered on behalf of the Registrar of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), Professor Mark Okeji, represented by the Head of the Radiography Department, Dr Malachy Ejimofor. In his remarks, he expressed his satisfaction and urged the inductees to serve as worthy ambassadors, upholding the dignity of their profession and their university.
Professor Tafin DaÉ—i, who represented the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, called on the new professionals to work with honesty and integrity. He also commended the lecturers for their dedication in training the students and wished the graduates success in their future endeavours.
At the end of the ceremony, lecturers and students were honoured for excellence and dedication. Among the award recipients was RAD Gwani Fatima Umar, who expressed her joy and gratitude to God for granting them the opportunity to begin and complete their studies successfully. She also thanked their parents, lecturers, and the university management for their support.
Another successful graduate, Rad. Musa Muhammad Kabir stated that his heart was filled with gratitude to Almighty God for granting him the opportunity to complete his studies and be inducted as a professional Radiographer from ABU Zaria. He thanked his parents for their patience and prayers and expressed special appreciation to the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, for the monthly educational support he receives, which greatly helped him achieve his goal. He added that the success was not his alone but belonged to everyone, and he prayed that God would reward them abundantly.
The ceremony took place at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Hall within the university campus, with thousands of attendees from different sectors, including traditional rulers and politicians. The event began and ended peacefully.
