Amid escalating security concerns and a growing wave of violent attacks across parts of Nigeria, Alhaji Sani Ahmad Zangina, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged citizens to intensify prayers and embrace national unity as part of efforts to confront the country’s security challenges.
Zangina noted that the prevailing security situation requires both spiritual reflection and collective resolve, stressing that Nigerians must remain steadfast in prayer while supporting ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across affected regions.
He further cautioned against what he described as the politicisation of insecurity, advising citizens not to be influenced by opposition narratives on the matter. According to him, responsible discourse is essential in order to avoid heightening tensions or exacerbating public anxiety.
“Opposition figures are amplifying the issue of insecurity; that is part of their role,” he stated.
The APC chieftain also expressed confidence in the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration is making concerted efforts to address the security situation and restore normalcy across the country. He added that several measures are being implemented to curb the trend of violent attacks.
However, he emphasised that government efforts alone would not be sufficient without the cooperation of citizens, particularly from Northern Nigeria, who he described as critical stakeholders in the quest for lasting peace.
“Achieving meaningful progress requires strong cooperation, especially from us in the North, to ensure this challenge is decisively addressed,” Zangina said.
He concluded that sustainable peace and security can only be achieved through a combination of government action, civic responsibility, and continued prayers from citizens across the country.
