The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has inspected the ongoing construction of an embankment project along the Gurara waterfront in Muye, Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, as part of efforts to monitor the effective implementation of interventions across its mandate areas.
The embankment project is a critical intervention by the Commission for the Muye community, aimed at protecting residents from flooding and safeguarding homes, farmlands, livelihoods and other community assets from the impact of rising water levels.
During the inspection, the Managing Director, represented by the Director of Finance and Administration, Dr. Haruna Jimoh Gabi, engaged the contractors, consultants and other relevant stakeholders on the progress of the project.
The engagement focused on identifying concerns and challenges that could affect the timely completion of the project, while emphasising the need for the contractors to adhere to the contractual specifications and deliver the project within the stipulated timeframe.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the project is executed to the required standard and delivered on schedule to achieve its intended purpose for the Muye community.
