Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his departure from the Portugal national team camp following a press conference by the national team coach and a subsequent conversation with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation.
Ronaldo said his decision followed the developments surrounding the coach’s press conference and his discussion with the federation’s president.
"After the National Team coach’s press conference, and following a conversation with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have decided to leave the National Team training camp.”
The Portugal captain said he would disclose the reasons for his departure at a later date, while emphasising his longstanding commitment to the national team.
“In due time, I will tell all Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that led to my departure from the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself.”
Ronaldo concluded by wishing Portugal and his teammates success.
