The Commissioner of Police of Zamfara State presented the cheques for Twenty-Three Million, Five Hundred and SSeventy-FourThousand, Two Hundred and Nine Naira, TTwenty-FourKOBO (#23,574,204) only to the Twenty-one (21) next of kin of the officers who lost their lives in active service.
The cheques issued were
part of the Group Life Assurance/IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme of the Force.
The Command Public Relations Office, ASP Yazid Abubakar disclosed in a statement in Gusau which he said the cheque was presented on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba.
The CP while presenting the cheques, appreciated the IGP for his kind gesture and also urged the families of the deceased officers to judiciously use the money to take care of their families.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abdulrahman Ahmed, one of the beneficiaries in his remarks on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the Inspector General of Police and the Command for their support. He also assured them the money given to them will be spent wisely.
