In a letter signed by the State Secretary of the Minna Emirate Concerned Youth (MEYC), Malam Isyaku Musa Beri, the emirate council is urged to sanction Dr. Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu, former Niger State Governor, as Talban Minna for abusing and violating Emirate directives.

MEYC stated that it is no longer a rumor that Talban Minna has, for the third consecutive year, organized a Sallah Durbar on his farm, which constitutes a direct violation of Minna Emirate's principles, norms, and directives. This blatant disregard for constituted authority is deemed unacceptable and must be promptly addressed.

The Emirate has directed that no Durbar of any kind be staged to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all citizens, given the unfortunate security situation in the Emirate. It was further explained that the insecurity has claimed the lives of many citizens who used to contribute to the colorful event with their presence and prayers.

As loyal citizens of the Emirate, staging any celebration would be tantamount to mocking the deceased. Therefore, as dutiful and respectful citizens, it is unacceptable to witness the disrespect of our norms, values, and cultural sanctity. By repeatedly staging the Sallah Durbar without proper authorization, Talban Minna has shown clear disrespect to constituted authority and acted in defiance of the principles that hold our Emirate dear. Such actions undermine the rule of law and erode the foundations of our Emirate. It is essential to uphold the integrity and sanctity of the royal stool by obeying the rules and regulations set forth by the Emirate.

In light of the aforementioned, it is imperative to request immediate sanctions be imposed on Talban Minna to deter any further disregard for Emirate orders.

We humbly recommend the urgent and swift stripping of the title of Talban Minna if he ever repeats such action. This will send a strong message that non-compliance with Emirate directives will not be tolerated, and those who choose to defy regulations will face consequences.

The letter emphasized that the Emirate is far bigger than any individual, and anyone who tries to antagonize the sanctity of our cultural heritage should not be spared. We thank you for your anticipated attention to this matter and trust that you will take the necessary steps to ensure that Talban Minna is sanctioned accordingly.
