The Niger State Parliament praised the state government for ensuring that this year's Hajj program was more effective than the previous one. Because according to him in the history of the welfare of pilgrims, a vibrant Hajj Committee has never been established like this year.

The Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee in the State Assembly, Hon.  Abdullahi Isah, the Member of Parliament representing Kontagora II made the commendation when he cleared the air to the newsmen regarding the speculations that the National Pilgrim Welfare Board will refund some money to the pilgrims.

Hon. Abdullahi Isah added that we have not officially received any notification regarding that from the board, but I have seen some updates on the internet that the president of the national board has stated this.

"Therefore, the council will now call the stakeholders in the commission to explain the situation to the council to enable us effectively communicate the pilgrims."

The Member of Parliament said that this year’s Hajj will be very easy, because of the measures taken by the state government even on constituting the Committee for the Welfare of Pilgrims in the state this year.

"The honorable governor appointed thirty capable people, you can see that every local government will have a representative officially, and no pilgrim bought a form with his own money it was given free and the money paid in banks, because the government's effort is to deal with the way some of the officials of the pilgrims steal the money of the pilgrims.

"I am confident that every pilgrim who fulfills the conditions of paying the well-keep fee will surely parform the Hajj without hitches because the authorities of Saudi Arabia have come up with a new system that even before the time of the trip, the number of pilgrims and all their information is known for anticipation and certainty of the year’s Hajj visit", he said.

"Regarding the officials of the pilgrims who were found guilty of extortion money, this year too, there is no way the money will go to them  and if any official of the pilgrims manipulated his way and is caught for the criminal act, the state legislature is ready to take action and punish accordingly", he added.

The member of the parliament confirmed that anyone who has any complains to make to the parliament; the door is open.
