The Fulani Herders’ Association in Kwakwaren-Manu, Basawa District, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has commended Governor Uba Sani for his efforts to promote peace and strengthen peaceful coexistence among communities across the state.

The association made the commendation last week when it received journalists at the office of the Sarkin Baka of Basawa District, Alhaji Ahmed Adamu.

Speaking on behalf of the association’s members, Alhaji Usman Adamu, popularly known as Uba and a Hardo in the area, expressed appreciation for the support and attention the association receives from the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

He said the Emir’s concern for the welfare of Fulani herders had contributed to progress within the Zazzau Emirate, particularly in promoting peace and mutual understanding among herding communities.

Usman consequently thanked the Emir and Governor Uba Sani for their continued support and commitment to the welfare of Fulani herders.

Also speaking, Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu, a prominent member of the Fulani herders’ and hunters’ associations in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, appealed to Governor Uba Sani and the local government chairman to provide additional support to strengthen the association’s activities and improve the living conditions of its members.

He urged the government to give the association greater recognition and support, similar to that enjoyed by cultural organisations in other states, particularly in the areas of cultural preservation, education and the welfare of herding communities.

According to him, such support would encourage members to participate actively in political activities and continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.

In his remarks, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Buji, Special Assistant to the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area on Fulani Herders’ Affairs, said the association had recorded considerable progress, particularly in promoting peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among herders, farmers and government authorities.

He attributed the progress to the efforts of the local government chairman, Hon. Abubakar Jamil Albani Samaru, in promoting peace and strengthening unity among the area's diverse communities.

Yusuf called on Governor Uba Sani to provide further assistance to Fulani herders in Basawa District and neighbouring communities, particularly in education, healthcare and the provision of other essential social amenities.

He said improved access to these services would enhance herders’ living conditions and strengthen relations between them and other communities.

He also commended Governor Uba Sani for his efforts to unite the people of Kaduna State, stressing that unity and peaceful coexistence were essential for sustainable development.

The visit concluded with special prayers for Governor Uba Sani and the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, seeking Allah’s guidance, blessings and success in the discharge of their leadership responsibilities.
