The repair of the Kontagora to Rijau road, initiated by the Niger government, holds significant promise for revitalizing the region's economy, according to Hamdala.
Speaking to the media in Minna, Alhaji Muhammadu Lawal Hamdala, a leader in the APC party and former member of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, revealed that the long-awaited repair of the Kontagora road to Rijau has been a dream for the region. The deteriorating condition of the road has adversely affected numerous activities in the area.
Hamdala noted that the road has been in dire need of attention for nearly twenty-five years, with previous administrations neglecting its repair until the arrival of the administration of Umaru Mohammed Bago.
He praised the current efforts and called for unity among the people of Rijau to support the administration's initiatives, emphasizing the potential for agricultural and business development once the road is restored.
Expressing confidence in the administration's commitment to serving the masses and reviving the economy, Hamdala highlighted the job opportunities and restoration of rural areas that the road project would bring about if implemented.
Hamdala also urged continued support and prayers for the Bago administration's efforts to combat terrorism, which has adversely impacted agriculture and business in many areas of the state.
The Kontagora to Rijau road connects Kontagora local government and a part of Mariga local government to Rijau local government, bordering Zuru local government of Kebbi state.
The road's deterioration since the colonial period has facilitated terrorist attacks and hindered community access.
Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago officially launched the road project on the twentieth day of Ramadan, despite its federal ownership.
