The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the Chairmanship of Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, has initiated a monthly meeting to unite all its members.
The meeting was held across all 14 local government areas of the state and was attended by critical stakeholders, including state party executives, local government and ward executives, youths, women, and party elders.
In Gusau, the meeting was chaired by the State Party Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani. In Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji, it was attended by the immediate past chairman of the party, Hon. Lawali M. Liman, and the State Secretary of the party, Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima. Similarly, in Talata-Mafara, the meeting was attended by the former State Secretary of the party, Hon. Sani Musa. In other local governments, notable party chieftains, including Members of the House of Representatives and State Assembly Members elected under the party, were present.
In a statement signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC Publicity Secretary for Zamfara State, it was stated that discussions revolved around the challenges facing the party and ways to resolve grievances that had previously threatened its unity.
The meeting also appreciated the individual and collective contributions of leaders and elders, particularly welfare packages from the state leader of the party and Hon. Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, and Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, among others.
Party leaders and representatives reviewed the security concerns plaguing the state and the region, among other crucial issues. Members expressed optimism that measures put in place by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would bring an end to insecurity, especially with the deployment of security personnel to the state and the northwest in general.
The party commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's proactive measures in addressing the challenges of hardship, including: "a one-off allocation to states and the Federal Capital Territory of N10 billion for the procurement of buses and the CNG uplift program. Delivery of N50,000 uplift grants each to 100,000 families per state for three months. Provisions for labor unions and civil society organizations.
Deployment of N155 billion for the purchase and distribution of assorted foodstuffs across the nation."
The party believes these measures will bring positive relief to the people. While urging members to continue to be law-abiding, the party assured them of initiating more welfare packages that will reach members at all levels and solicited their continuous prayers for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and the party leaders.
