A Federal House of Representatives member representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji has donated N10 million and 200 bags of rice to victims of last Friday's flood disaster in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji presented the cash donation to the Emir of Gummi, Justice Lawal Hassan (retired), in Gummi town, the headquarters of Gummi Local Government Area, on Wednesday.

Jaji, who serves as the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Ecological Funds, expressed his deep regret over the incident, which left thousands of households homeless.

The lawmaker, represented by the State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Jajiyya faction, Mansur Khalifa Kaura, described the event as deeply disturbing.

"We are here in Gummi to commiserate with our brothers and sisters affected by the recent flood disaster that rendered many people homeless in the area," Jaji said.

"I am pleased to announce the donation of N10 million and 200 bags of rice to provide emergency support to the disaster victims, to alleviate their burden and suffering.

"I urge the victims and the people of Gummi Local Government to be patient, remain grateful to Almighty God, and view this disaster as something destined by Allah (SWT)," Jaji added.

In response, the Emir of Gummi, retired Justice Lawal Hassan, commended the lawmaker for his generosity.

"This is timely, and we appreciate Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji for providing this kind assistance to our people," the Emir said.

"He has shown great concern for the people of Gummi."

The Emir also called on well-meaning individuals and political officeholders to emulate Hon. Jaji by extending similar gestures to those in need.
