As hunger and insecurity continue to plague Nigeria under President Bola Ahmad Tinubu's administration, the Muslim community in Zaria, Kaduna State, gathered on Saturday, August 10, 2024, to seek divine intervention. The event, which included men, women, and children, took place at the Low-cost Field in Kofar Kuyanbana, Zaria.
The prayer session commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, followed by two raka'at (units) of prayers. Subsequently, seven individuals, who appeared to be scholars, were invited to lead special prayers. They prayed for a solution to the current hardships faced by Nigerians and sought God's intervention to end the insecurity, inflation, and the high cost of goods in the country. They also prayed for the replacement of the nation's leaders with those who would be more empathetic to the poor and attentive to their needs.
In addition, the Islamic clerics present at the gathering repeatedly asked for God’s mercy in bringing rainfall and removing epidemics from the city and the country at large.
The prayer session concluded peacefully.
