Former Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has paid a condolence visit to the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, following the passing of his father, Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi, the District Head of Malale.
The former governor, accompanied by his predecessor and Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District, Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello, as well as Sen. Muhammad Sani Musa, representing Niger East Senatorial District, visited the Minister's Abuja residence to express their sympathies.
The delegation included members of the Niger State House of Representatives, the State Executive Council, and other top government officials.
During the visit, former Governor Umaru Bago described the late District Head of Malale as a father figure who lived an exemplary life, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire many. He also took the opportunity to commend Sen. Aliyu Sabi for his notable achievements as Minister of State, emphasizing that Niger State is proud of his contributions.
In his response, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the former governor and the people of Niger State for their overwhelming love and support during this difficult time. He remembered his father as a disciplined man and a veteran politician who always advised against playing politics with bitterness. The Minister of State thanked Allah for the impactful life his father led.
Former Governor and Senator representing Niger North, Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello, and Sen. Muhammad Sani Musa, representing Niger East, also extended their condolences to Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi and his family on behalf of all federal lawmakers.
Special prayers were offered for the repose of Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi's soul.
