The Democratic and Good Governance Forum, led by convener Suleiman Mai-Poster, has called for the immediate dismissal of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accusing him of "political banditry" and threatening Nigeria’s democracy.

In a statement issued in Bauchi, Mai-Poster condemned Wike’s escalating threats against governors within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), particularly Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He described Wike’s actions as dangerously reckless and rooted in betrayal and disloyalty.

The forum criticized Wike’s history of turning against key political allies, including former Governor Rotimi Amaechi and ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, labeling him treacherous and ungrateful. They further warned of Wike’s threats to incite violence against governors backing Fubara, calling it a "direct assault on national peace."

Mai-Poster urged President Tinubu to distance his administration from Wike and called on the PDP leadership to take swift action to restore discipline within the party. The forum’s statement concluded with a warning that Nigeria’s democracy is at risk if dangerous individuals are not rejected.

This demand for Wike’s removal highlights growing internal tensions within the PDP and raises questions about Wike’s political future amidst mounting scrutiny.
