Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed deep sadness over the petrol tanker explosion in Katcha Local Government Area, which resulted in the tragic loss of lives and property.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor conveyed his sorrow over the incident and the significant damage caused. He extended his sympathies to those affected and assured that the Niger State Government, through the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) and other relevant organizations, has mobilized rescue operations.
Governor Bago urged calm among residents and called on road users to follow traffic regulations to prevent such disasters. He also prayed for the souls of the deceased and a swift recovery for the injured.
The explosion, occurring 2 km from Essa Word in Katcha, claimed lives, burned cattle, and destroyed vehicles.
