Chanchaga Local Government Council in Niger State has distributed educational materials, including textbooks, uniforms, and school bags, to pupils and teachers in 37 Local Education Authority (LEA) primary schools and some secondary schools.
At the flag-off ceremony in Minna, Council Chairman Hon. Aminu Yakubu Ladan emphasized the council's commitment to enhancing education for sustainable community development. He praised teachers for their dedication, often using their resources to make lessons engaging, and assured them of continued support.
Ladan revealed that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to boost education in the area, including paying tuition fees for indigent students, covering JAMB fees, and supporting primary school teachers.
The event saw the symbolic distribution of 5,200 uniforms, 1,700 school bags, and 2,500 textbooks. Key officials, including the Chairman of Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Malam Muhammad Baba Ibrahim, and other dignitaries, commended the council’s efforts and called for more support from individuals and organizations to improve basic education in the state.
