In a surprising move, President Bola Tinubu has relieved Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo of his duties as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, appointing Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as his replacement.

The announcement, made earlier today, has sparked discussions about the reasons behind the sudden change and its potential implications for Tinubu's administration.

According to a statement issued by the presidency after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata was named the new Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, replacing Gwarzo.

In addition to Ata's appointment, the statement revealed several other ministerial changes. Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole was assigned to the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.

Nentawe Yilwatda was selected to replace the suspended Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi was appointed Minister of Labour and Employment.

Idi Mukhtar Maiha was named Minister of Livestock Development, and Suwaiba Said Ahmad was appointed Minister of State for Education.

In a related development, the president appointed Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the newly reconstituted National Sports Commission (NSC), which will now assume the responsibilities of the dissolved Ministry of Sports Development.

Furthermore, Sunday Dare, who served as Minister of Sports under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, has been appointed Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation. Dare will operate from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
