This week, a tree-planting initiative was launched in Sabon Gari Local Government of Kaduna State under the sponsorship of Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Jibrin, in partnership with the Bomo Development Association.

Our correspondent was among the journalists from various news outlets who attended the event, which took place at the palace of the District Head of Basawa, Alhaji Haruna Abubakar Bamalli, in Bomo.

During the launch, Alhaji Lawal Jibrin addressed the large crowd, expressing his gratitude to Almighty Allah and expressing his appreciation to the emirs, Imams, plant experts, and non-governmental organizations who contributed to the initiative's success and the development of the area.

Honourable Abubakar Jamil Albani, a Kaduna State House of Assembly member representing Sabon Gari, also spoke at the event. He highlighted the Islamic teachings that emphasize the spiritual reward for planting trees, which he said could lead to Paradise. He urged the people of Bomo and Samaru to embrace tree planting as a means to earn blessings in both this life and the hereafter.

Maradin Zazzau, Ahmad Muhammad Jumare, a native of Bomo, expressed his gratitude to his brother, Alhaji Lawal, for sponsoring such an important initiative. He praised the project for enhancing the quality of life in Bomo through tree planting, which he described as beneficial to the environment and the people.

Ahmad Jumare further emphasized that the initiative has strengthened the bond between the towns of Bomo and Samaru, as well as fostering unity among the wider community. He concluded by praying for Allah to bless Alhaji Lawal and his family for their efforts.

The District Head of Basawa, Barden Kerarriyar Zazzau, Alhaji Haruna Abubakar Bamalli, served as the chief guest at the occasion. In his speech, he commended Alhaji Lawal for his leadership in raising awareness about the importance of tree planting. He emphasized that tree planting not only helps combat soil erosion but also provides fresh air and can even improve eyesight.

The District Head concluded by expressing his gratitude to Alhaji Lawal for bringing positive development to Bomo and extended his hopes for continued peace and progress in the Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.

The event was successfully concluded.
