A group of youths appeared at the median of the dual carriageway at Ahmadu Bello University North Gate, Samaru Campus, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, to protest insecurity in Nigeria.
The protesters, numbering about five, are residents of Samaru area in Zaria. They stood on the central shoulder of the road carrying placards and chanting slogans including “Tinubu Must Go”, “End Kidnapping”, and “Tinubu End Banditry”.
Inscriptions on the placards read: “NIGERIANS WE NEED PEACE”, “TINUBU END BANDIT”, “TINUBU MUST GO NO SECURITY”, and “A KAWO KARSHEN RASHIN TSARO”.
Speaking during the protest, one of the demonstrators said Nigerians are tired of the security situation and called on President Bola Tinubu to either resign or end banditry and other forms of insurgency. He added that the masses have remained silent despite being the main victims of attacks.
The protest was peaceful. Vehicular movement continued normally around the protesters.
