The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended congratulations to former Governor and current Senator representing Zamfara West, Distinguished Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, on being awarded the traditional title of Marafan Sokoto by His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III.
This was announced in a statement released by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Idris, and made available to the press.
On behalf of the Zamfara State APC Working Committee, executives, party leaders, elders, members, and supporters, State APC Chairman Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani congratulated Senator Yari, stating, "This is an honor extended to all party members and the entire people of Zamfara. We believe Senator Yari embodies the qualities required to hold such a prestigious title in the Sokoto Caliphate."
The statement emphasized that Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, who is the son-in-law of the late Marafan Sokoto, Alhaji Umaru Aliyu Shinkafi, is expected to carry forward the legacy of his late father-in-law’s virtues, including patience, tolerance, hard work, dedication, justice, and philanthropy.
Danfulani also praised Senator Yari’s humility and adherence to religious principles, noting that his qualities align with the values upheld by the Sultanate Council.
Expressing gratitude, Danfulani commended the Sultanate for recognizing Senator Yari's contributions and for bestowing upon him the title of Marafan Sokoto. He added that the party prays for Allah's continued guidance and protection for the Senator in his service to humanity, especially to the people of Zamfara.
