The Niger State Government has announced plans to spend ₦10 billion on the remodeling of the General Hospital and the School of Health Technology in Tungan Magajiya, Rijau Local Government Area.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago disclosed this during a visit to the facilities as part of his statewide project monitoring tour. He noted that the upgraded structures would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance service delivery and meet the community's healthcare and educational needs.

“These facilities are historic and essential to the well-being of our people. The government will continue to support and upgrade them to ensure effective service delivery,” Governor Bago stated.

During his visit to the Palace of the Sarkin Bauchin Rijau, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Kuki, Governor Bago addressed community members, informing them of plans to reopen the Vocational School and financial institution in Rijau.

The governor also announced that the ongoing construction of the Kontagora-Rijau road would be extended to Zuru, and assured residents of the completion of the 5-kilometer township road project in Rijau.

In their remarks, the Sarkin Bauchin Rijau, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Kuki, the Member representing Rijau/Magama Federal Constituency, Shehu Sale, and the Chairman of Rijau Local Government Council, Danladi Kwambo, praised the governor for his commitment to infrastructure development in Rijau and across the state.

In recognition of his contributions, Governor Bago was conferred with the traditional title of Jarman Rijau by the Sarkin Bauchin Rijau, symbolizing his dedication and love for the people of the community.

Governor Bago also inspected ongoing projects, including the Rijau-Kontagora road and the proposed six-span bridge at Luoji. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and reassured residents of Gulbin Boka and Kwuimo communities of his administration’s commitment to providing essential social amenities.

The governor’s tour underscores his administration’s determination to improve infrastructure and foster development in Niger State.
