ZLG Chairman, Engineer Jamilu Ahmad Muhammad has integrated journalists from Zaria in the NASS press corp training programme for maximum productivity.

The Six journalists selected by the chairman were part of the over 100 press corp members that participated in the parliamentary reporters training program for enhance performance and professionalism.

The one-day training which was sponsored by Dr.Abas Tajuddeen, Speaker, House of Representative in collaboration with UNDP was held in Kaduna on Saturday.

Eng.Jamilu Muhammad said the gesture was aimed at enhancing professionalism and equipping the Zaria-base journalists with requisite knowledge on parliamentary reporting and coverage.

He said the effort was part of his commitment to involve Zaria community in all aspects of human capacity building initiative for the development of his local government area.

The council chairman who squeezed the six members into the training, said the action was out of his closeness and mutual relationship with the Speaker of the national assembly.

He assured that concerted efforts are being made to attract more people oriented opportunities and programmes for the benefit of all 

Eng.Jamilu who is nicknamed "JAGA" noted that the training will improve human capacity and help sharpen the society through unbiased reportage.

Declaring the training open, Dr.Abas Tajuddeen, Speaker of the House of Representative said the training was in fulfillment of his earlier pledge towards improving the welfare and working condition of members of the House Press Corp.

Dr. Tajuddeen, however donated a brand new vehicle to ease transportation difficulties of the Press Corp members, and enjoined them to double their commitments in sensitizing the public on legislative activities of the National assembly.

While urging journalists to desist from sensational reportage and fake news, the Speaker assured continued support of the legislative arm to providing level playing ground for all members of the fourth realm of estate to discharge their mandate in accordance with ethics of the profession.
