Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has pledged to sustain his administration's policy of free fertilizer distribution, alongside other agricultural inputs, to farmers as part of efforts to boost national food security.
The governor made this assurance on Wednesday during a thank-you tour of three local government areas: Suru, Koko Besse, and Maiyama.
He emphasized that the initiative reflects his administration's commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers across the state.
"I want to use this medium to inform this gathering that I will do everything possible to sustain the supply of free fertilizers and other agricultural inputs to farmers. I will also ensure that more infrastructure is provided across the nooks and crannies of the state, with a view to spreading transformation to all parts of Kebbi," the governor stated.
Gov. Idris expressed gratitude for the support his administration has received from the people of the area and reaffirmed his government’s dedication to promoting peace and unity among citizens.
Speaking on recent defections from other political parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor assured the new members of his administration's commitment to supporting them and ensuring equal treatment for all.
In his remarks, the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, called on the people of Kebbi State to continue supporting the current administration under the leadership of Gov. Idris.
The chairman urged the public to rally behind the governor’s policies and programs, emphasizing their potential to benefit the entire state.
He lauded the administration’s achievements, noting that they directly impact the lives of the people. Kana-Zuru also welcomed thousands of defectors from other political parties in the three local government areas, assuring them of fair treatment within the party and the government.
"I welcome you all to our great party. You have made the right decision by joining the APC. Our party’s manifestos will undoubtedly bring positive changes to your lives," he said.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, a former commissioner and prominent member of the PDP, Alhaji Mohammed Ruwa (RK) Dakingari, explained that their decision to join the APC was motivated by the achievements of Gov. Idris’s administration.
"We are satisfied with the accomplishments of this administration and fully support Kauran Gwandu's mission and vision.
"It is not an illusion. His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has constructed roads, schools, and healthcare centers. Above all, he is committed to human capital development. The governor truly touches the lives of the masses," he affirmed.
