Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has inaugurated an Islamic Multi-Service Centre in Babbar Riga village, Malam-Madori Local Government Area, in partnership with Qatar Charity, a Qatar-based NGO.

The centre, a testament to the collaboration between Jigawa State and Qatar Charity, includes residential housing units, a modern school, and a mosque, creating a mini-community to foster education, spirituality, and social cohesion.

At the ceremony, Governor Namadi thanked Qatar Charity for fulfilling their promise and emphasized the need for continued partnership to expand such initiatives across the state. He announced that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) would oversee the facility's management, ensuring the deployment of teachers and other necessary resources.

“This centre represents hope for the people of Babbar Riga and its environs. It underscores our administration's commitment to advancing education and community development,” Namadi stated.

The governor urged residents to utilize the facility effectively, reiterating that education is a cornerstone of societal progress and reaffirming his administration’s dedication to fostering learning opportunities in Jigawa State.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Qatar’s ambassador to Nigeria, Ali Bin Ghanem Al-Hajri; Qatar Charity’s Country Director, Hamdi Abdou; NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Abdullahi; and the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, alongside other prominent figures and local residents.

Qatar Charity formally handed over the facility to the Jigawa State Government during the event. Country Director Hamdi Abdou lauded Governor Namadi's vision and pledged further interventions in Jigawa State by 2025.

This project stems from a commitment made by Qatar Charity during Governor Namadi's visit to their Abuja office last year. The organization pledged to construct an Islamic center with a housing estate at a location selected by the state government. This initiative aligns with Qatar Charity's mission to support education, empower communities, and combat poverty in Nigeria.

Governor Namadi's administration continues to prioritize partnerships that drive development and improve living standards across Jigawa State.
