Anas Malami-Gwandu, Chairman of the Kebbi State Disability Commission, has commended the State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for appointing 15 persons with disabilities (PWDs) as his Special Assistants.

The chairman expressed his appreciation in a letter addressed to the governor, which was made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

He stated: “On behalf of the entire community of Persons with Disabilities in Kebbi State, I wish to express our deepest appreciation to His Excellency, Cmrd. Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the historic and inclusive decision to appoint 15 persons with disabilities as special assistants in his administration.

“Your Excellency, this remarkable act is more than an appointment; it is a declaration of your commitment to inclusivity, equity, and empowerment.

“By giving PWDs a seat at the table of governance, you have sent a powerful message that disability is not a limitation and that every individual, regardless of their physical or mental challenges, has a role to play in the development of our dear state.”

Malami-Gwandu observed that the decision demonstrates the governor’s visionary leadership and dedication to ensuring that no one is left behind in the collective journey toward progress and prosperity.

According to him, the move inspires hope and renews purpose within the PWD community.

“As we celebrate this milestone, I assure Your Excellency that these special assistants will justify the confidence you have placed in them. They will work tirelessly to contribute to the success of your administration and the betterment of our society,” he added.

The chairman also pledged the total support and loyalty of the state disability commission in partnering with the present administration to advance the welfare, empowerment, and rights of persons with disabilities.

He stated: “Together, we can break barriers, create opportunities, and build an inclusive society where everyone thrives. Your Excellency, you have not only won our admiration but also our trust and loyalty. The title of Kauran Gwandu has been truly exemplified by this bold and inclusive gesture.

“You are indeed a champion of the people, and history will remember you as a leader who prioritized unity, equality, and development.

“Once again, we say thank you, Your Excellency, for your compassion, foresight, and commitment to the people of Kebbi State. May your tenure continue to bring blessings, progress, and prosperity to our beloved state.”
