Stakeholders from Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, under the auspices of the Shiroro Standing Committee on Peace, Unity, and Development, have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Umar Mohammed Bago.
The declaration was made on Friday during an expanded meeting of current and former political officeholders, community leaders, party stalwarts, and youth and women representatives. The meeting was held at the Princess Az-Zahra Lodge in Minna.
Speaking at the event, Niger State Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their steadfast support. He emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and cohesion as essential remedies for insecurity, underdevelopment, and unemployment.
Garba urged leaders at all levels to align with Governor Bago’s vision of transforming Niger State into a model of progress. He also praised the governor’s achievements, describing him as “God-sent.”
The Chairman of the Standing Committee, Prof. Bashar Nuhu Mohammed, lauded Governor Bago as a “special friend of Shiroro” deserving of unwavering support from all residents of the local government area.
On behalf of the committee and the people of Shiroro, Mohammed reiterated their confidence in Governor Bago’s leadership and reaffirmed their loyalty and support to the Deputy Governor.
Several speakers at the event commended the foresight of the committee and called for more such gatherings to strengthen unity, peace, and harmony in the region.
