Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced plans to construct a $2 billion poultry project in Bosso Local Government Area.

The Governor made this announcement in Maikunkele, the headquarters of Bosso LGA, during an engagement with local stakeholders as part of his ongoing statewide project monitoring initiative.

He stated that the poultry project aligns with the Federal Government's livestock development initiative, with Niger State being chosen as a pilot state for the program.

Governor Bago highlighted several ongoing road projects in Bosso LGA and urged residents to continue supporting the administration to ensure the successful completion of these initiatives. He particularly appealed to those whose properties are affected by the road construction to cooperate by relocating their properties to facilitate the projects, assuring them that full compensation would be provided.

Noting the growing population in Bosso, the Governor revealed plans for the construction of a General Hospital in the area to ease pressure on the existing facility in Minna. He also pledged to address the electricity issues in Kodo, with a view to resolving them promptly.

Governor Bago commended Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, who represents Niger East Senatorial District, for his contributions to the development of the constituency. He further disclosed that Senator Musa would be constructing a mini stadium and a skills acquisition center in Bosso LGA, and that 20 students from the area would benefit from his scholarship to Singapore.

The Governor also expressed his gratitude to Baraje Yusuf Kure, the Member representing Bosso/Paikoro Federal Constituency, for his continued support of the state government’s developmental projects.

In his remarks, Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba called for the sustained support of the people of Bosso LGA, assuring them of the administration's commitment to meeting their needs and aspirations.

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa also commended the Governor’s administration for prioritizing the needs of Bosso, particularly in the agricultural sector. He emphasized the significance of the Special Agro-industrial Processing Zone, which would create both direct and indirect jobs in the area.

Baraje Yusuf Kure, in his contribution, pledged to support the state government's agricultural initiatives with a contribution of N1 billion, alongside providing fertilizers and other essential farm inputs to boost agricultural productivity.

Other stakeholders, including Abubakar Suleiman Gomna, the Member representing Bosso at the State Assembly, and Ladidi Rakiya Bawa Bosso, the Chairman of Bosso LGA, expressed their appreciation for the Governor's people-oriented projects. They also made further requests, including the rehabilitation of the Bosso Dam for improved water supply, more roads within the local government, and the construction of a feeder road from Garatu to Beji. They assured the Governor of their continued support for his administration.

In recognition of his efforts to improve the lives of Bosso residents, the title of Dan Malikin Bosso was conferred upon Governor Bago by the Hakimin Bosso, Alh. Adamu Lakka.
