The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Niger State Chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic petrol tanker explosion that occurred at Diko Junction along the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Saturday, resulting in the loss of several lives.
In a statement signed by the State Secretary of the Institute, Aliyu Jibo Garba (ANIPR), and made available to The Blinkers Magazine, the NIPR extended heartfelt condolences to the Niger State Government, the families of the victims, and the people of the state.
The statement described the incident as a devastating tragedy that has deeply shaken the institute. It also affirmed the institute’s solidarity with the state government and the affected families during this difficult time.
"We commend the state government's swift response to the emergency and its efforts to provide support to the affected families," the statement read.
The NIPR also called on the public to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with authorities during the ongoing investigation into the incident.
“May God grant us the strength to overcome this tragedy, may the souls of the departed rest in peace, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the statement concluded.
