The Chairman PDP Governors' Forum, Bala Mohammed has vowed that the party stakeholders in the Northeast will not allow detractors to lead the party.
Bala Mohammed who was speaking yesterday at the PDP North East Zonal Caucus Delegates Meeting held at Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi, observed that detractors are working day and night in order to hijack the party.
The Caucus also had a reconciliation meeting with the Reconciliation Committee set up by the National Working Committee as part of their efforts to boost unity and focus.
Bauchi state governor further said, "This is the only Zone that does not have so much division and rancour. Yes, we may have some ill feelings here and there, but it is not as pervasive as other zones of the country.
"This is the Zone for the PDP. In the zone, we have three governors who are working as a family. We are working day and night, 24-7, to ensure that we don't bring shame to the party.
"We are bringing inclusive projects and programs not just to praise ourselves, because we do a lot of discussion between us in order to be able to learn from each other to deliquite projects and programmes that will have direct bearing on the aspiration of our people," Bala added.
He emphasised that, "And we are loyal to the zone and loyal to our various chapters that don't have governors, and we will continue to do that. We are always known for unity, for coming out strong, we don't have any desperation issues, and that's why when we discuss."
The chairman PDP Governors' Forum also announced that the party will soon hold congress of the party, and the position will give the apt for election, and in order to poster reconciliation and minimize rancour as usual among them.
Bala Mohammed further announced that the three PDP governors have resolved to renovate the Bauchi zonal office, to make it more functional office, stressing that they will not allow detractors to lead the party.
He underscored the significance of ongoing reconciliation efforts, stressing that unity remains paramount.
Zonal chairman of the party Reverend Emmanuel Nova also reminded the federal government of its harsh economic policies which are always putting people into untold hardships, stressing the need for the government to tinker with some of its economic policies to bring succor to the people.
"There is too much anger. The economic policy is not working. That's why we always call on the federal government to tinker with some of this economic policies that are putting only hardships on Nigerians. They will toy the land of listening to these words of wisdom so that they can tinker with this policy.
"Because this country belongs to all of us. We are not conquered people. We only went into elections and some people won and some people lost the elections. So if you are running this country, given the privilege by God to me, you must run it in trust and for all of us. And whatever that will make us cry must not be part of your policy."
Emmanuel reiterated that fostering cohesion will remain a top priority, ensuring a stronger and more unified front in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
