President Bola Tinubu has appointed Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad, a former lawmaker from Sabon Garin Zaria, Kaduna State, as the Chairman of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA).
The announcement was made on Friday through a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.
According to Daily Struggle Newspaper, the President has also named board chairpersons for 42 key federal organizations and a secretary to the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services.
New appointments include a Managing Director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a Director-General for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).
President Tinubu emphasized that the roles of the appointed board chairpersons are non-executive and directed them not to interfere in the day-to-day management of their respective organizations.
The statement from Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that all appointments take immediate effect.
