A group in Bauchi State has condemned recent accusations levelled against Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, describing them as baseless and malicious attempts to undermine peace, democracy, unity, and development in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the group, its chairman, Dr. Yusuf Balarabe, dismissed the allegations as "lies from the pit of hell by agents of doom seeking to unleash mayhem in Bauchi State."

The group was responding to claims made weeks ago by certain individuals accusing the administration of allocating ₦400 million for the procurement of six computers. Dr. Balarabe labeled these allegations as “mischievous and part of a sponsored campaign of calumny aimed at tarnishing the good reputation of Governor Bala Mohammed.”

In a statement released by the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and shared with media organizations in Bauchi, it was clarified that the 2025 budget allocates only ₦250 million for the procurement of ICT infrastructure. This allocation includes the purchase of approximately 150 computers to be distributed to various offices and agencies, including the SSG’s office, the Bauchi State Environmental Sanitation Agency, the Pilgrims Welfare Board, the State Primary Health Development Agency, and selected secondary schools across the state.

The statement emphasized that this initiative reflects the governor’s commitment to modernizing critical infrastructure and advancing the state’s digital transformation agenda.

The group further debunked the claims of a ₦400 million expenditure for six computers as fabricated lies and propaganda meant to deceive the public and tarnish the administration's achievements.

Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, they noted, remains committed to promoting good governance and implementing globally acceptable best practices to foster peace, development, and progress in Bauchi State.

The group called on citizens to continue supporting the administration’s initiatives, which are aimed at improving the lives of all residents and advancing the state’s infrastructure and governance.
