In a landmark event today, Zinnia College of Health Science and Technology, Keffi, officially appointed Pharmacist Dr. Sabiu Adamu as its Substantive Provost.
The appointment letter was formally presented by the Director of the College, Abdulqadir Shehu Ahmad, in the presence of the College Coordinator, Dogara Danjuma.
Pharmacist Dr. Sabiu Adamu has been a pivotal figure in the growth and development of the college, bringing decades of experience, exceptional expertise, and unwavering dedication to the institution. Born on February 26, 1962, Dr. Sabiu has an outstanding academic and professional background.
He is a Consultant Clinical Pharmacist and a Fellow of the Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, a title he earned in 2015. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Benin, obtained in 2011, a Masters in Business Administration from Nasarawa State University Keffi, completed in 2010, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in 2000, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, awarded in 1988.
With over three decades of service, Dr. Sabiu has held several key positions, including serving as the Head of Pharmacy Departments in multiple General Hospitals and as the Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Head of Department at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi. He has also been a Board Member of the Nasarawa State Rehabilitation Centre in 2010, a member of the Scientific and Research Committee at the Federal Medical Centre Keffi, the Secretary of the Drug Revolving Funds Committee at General Hospitals in Keffi and Lafia, and the Project Manager of the Drug Revolving Funds Committee at the Federal Medical Centre Keffi.
Dr. Sabiu’s contributions extend far beyond administrative roles. He has been actively involved in clinical and scientific research, with five publications to his name. Additionally, he has participated in numerous leadership, scientific, and clinical conferences, showcasing his commitment to advancing healthcare practices.
The appointment ceremony was met with enthusiasm and widespread support from college staff. Many expressed confidence in Dr. Sabiu’s ability to lead the institution to greater heights.
Speaking at the event, Director Abdulqadir Shehu Ahmad lauded Dr. Sabiu’s invaluable contributions, emphasizing his profound impact on the college and his readiness to steer it into a prosperous future.
