Youth organisations under the banner of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) have urged Alhaji Al-Faiz Muhammad Bello, popularly known as Akomonikeu, to contest for the Presidency in 2027.
The youths who gathered at UPN office in Kobi street, Bauchi, described Al-Fa’iz as a strong advocate for both the younger and older generations in Nigeria and declared their unwavering support.
Speaking at the rally, the group’s leader, Abdurrashid Abimbola Abdulsalam, pledged financial backing for Bello's campaign nationwide to ensure victory.
He emphasised the need to break away from the dominance of career politicians and outdated policies that do not benefit Nigerian youths.
“This is the time for change. We need a youthful President like Al-Fa’iz Muhammad, who can make Nigeria live up to the dreams of our heroes past,” he said.
The group also encouraged Al-Fa’iz to remain patient and prepare for the challenge ahead, assuring him that his silence on the matter has only strengthened their resolve.
“We are ready for him. No retreat, no surrender until we accomplish our goal, which is aligned with God’s will.”
While commenting, Abdulmalik Dauda and Muhammad Kamal Abdullahi, praised Al-Fa’iz’s leadership qualities, highlighting his wisdom, resilience, humility, and patriotism, which set him apart from past leaders.
In response, Al-Fa’iz Mohammed expressed gratitude for their support and faith in his candidacy under the UPN. However, he noted that the time for formal politicking had not yet arrived.
“I have heard you clearly and will not disappoint you. I have demonstrated my commitment in Kano, and the results are evident. By God’s grace, we will replicate this success for Nigeria,” he assured.
Al-Fa’iz also vowed to transform Nigeria, addressing the challenges brought about by the 16-year rule of the PDP and the current APC administration’s economic policies, which, he argued, have left Nigerians struggling.
