The Zahra Relief Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has announced plans to feed over 10,000 people during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
The foundation reiterated its commitment in a statement sent to Daily Struggle Newspaper on Saturday.
According to the statement, signed by the foundation’s media department, the initiative is part of Zahra Relief Foundation's dedication to charitable activities within the community. The feeding programme will take place during Ramadan 1446/2025.
The statement described the feeding programme as a significant act of worship, quoting the Messenger of God (PBUH) in his sermon before Ramadan: “Save yourselves from the Fire even if it is with half a date... and give charity to the needy and the poor among you.”
The foundation also urged the public to support the initiative by donating funds or contributing food items. It called on the community to make an effort to donate whatever they can to support the needy in any way possible.
"Donations can be made to the account: Zahra Relief Foundation, Account Number 1228340396, Zenith Bank. For food donations, interested individuals can call 08122843424 or 08161621894", the statement added.
The statement concluded by expressing hope for widespread participation in the programme.
Daily Struggle reports that the Zahra Relief Foundation successfully fed thousands of people during last year’s Ramadan.
